Charitable Work: Tibetan Refugee Children in Nepal
Our efforts in service are concentrated in the Kathmandu valley and focus
on the children of Tibetan refugee families suffering great hardship.
Many of these children have lost a parent and come from desperate poverty.
Like all Tibetans in Nepal, these children's families remain stateless
and even those children born in Nepal retain refugee status. Our program
enables sponsored children to attend established schools, where they study
the Tibetan, Nepali, and English languages, as well as a modern curriculum
of mathematics, the sciences, history and physical education.
$300 USD per year will sponsor one child. This includes
all school materials, health care, and room and board.
As
a sponsor you will receive an e-mailed photograph and
information about the child you are helping. Of course
smaller donations are also most welcome and are put towards
the needs of the many children still awaiting sponsorship.
